It also looks much neater and makes for a safer work environment. Our office cleaning in Brisbane, Sydney and the Gold Coast helps companies keep clean, safe, healthy office spaces.

Refrigerator Cleaning

Exterior – Wipe down the fridge exterior with a damp cloth and diluted detergent. Or in place of the detergent, use vinegar and bicarb of soda. Remember to clean the handles which have a lot of hand contact. And clean the top of the fridge, where the dust often accumulates.

Interior – Remove the shelves and drawers so they can be cleaner outside with warm, soapy water. Then wipe the interior walls with a solution of baking soda and water to remove odours.

Coils – Clean the condenser coils behind the fridge every six months, using a vacuum or a coil brush. If the coils are dusty the fridge will draw more electricity, which costs more money.

Maintenance – Check the door seals for any cracks or gaps A loose seal allows the cool air to escape, making the fridge work harder.

Cleaning Ovens and the Stovetop

Oven – For a self-cleaning oven, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For a manual clean, use a mixture of baking soda and water to coat the interior, leave this overnight, then scrub and wipe clean. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can leave residues.

Stovetop – For gas stoves, remove the grates and burner caps and soak them in soapy water. Scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. For electric stovetops, use a gentle cleaner designed for the surface.

Maintenance – Inspect and clean the burner holes to ensure an even flame. Check the oven’s door seal for any damage and replace it if necessary.

Microwave Oven Cleaning

Place a ceramic or microwave-safe bowl in the microwave. Fill this with water and a few slices of lemon. Then run the microwave on high for 3-5 minutes. The steam will loosen any grime, making it easy to wipe down the interior.

Remove and wash the turntable in warm, soapy water.

Maintenance: Ensure the seals on the microwave door are sound. Damaged seals are a serious radiation risk. Never slam the door, as this can damage the latch mechanism.

Cleaning Dishwashers

Many dishwashers have a self-cleaning cycle. Use this when possible. For other dishwashers, run an empty cycle with a cup of white vinegar placed on the top rack. This helps remove grease and odours.

Check and clean the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher to prevent clogs.

Inspect the spray arms for clogs and use a stiff brush to remove any debris.

Cleaning a Coffee Maker

Some coffee makers have a self-cleaning function. Otherwise, run a cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar. This will remove mineral build-up inside the machine. Then rinse with plaint water for two cycles.

Clean the outside of the machine and the carafe with a sponge and warm, soapy water. Replace the water filter as recommended by the manufacturer. By using filtered water we can greatly reduce mineral deposits.

Toasters and Toaster Oven

Unplug the appliance and shake out any crumbs (do this outside is possible). Remove and wash the crumb tray with warm, soapy water. Wipe down the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth. Check the heating elements for any signs of damage or wear.

Vacuum Cleaner

Empty the dust bag regularly to maintain suction power. Cloth bags can last longer, and are generally a good option. A paper vacuum bag can be preferable if cleaning wet grime or insect nest. Dispose of the paper bag after use.

Replace or clean the filters about once per year, recommended by the manufacturer. Check the brush roll for any tangled hair or debris and remove it. Inspect the hose for blockages and clear any obstructions.

Air Conditioner Cleaning

Remove and clean or replace the air filter regularly to ensure efficient airflow. A blocked air filter can be a fire hazard.

Remove dust form the coils and fins using a vacuum or a soft brush. Check the condensate drain for any blockages and clear them.
